The Institute of Cartopology offers tailored educational programs for curious minds — from young adventurers to seasoned experts. With hands-on workshops and lectures, we explore mapping in unique locations.
From our home base in Vaals, Berghut Halverwege, the village and landscape become living classrooms. Students help chop wood, maintain the garden, drink tea while document their experiences in maps, and learn by being present in the landscape and the household that sustains it.
For more than ten years, we’ve guided university groups across Europe — from Helsinki to Barcelona, from Brighton to Vienna — in fields ranging from architecture and urban planning to geography, arts and the social sciences.
